The EOS company traces its origins back four generations to Doug Midgley in the early 1900s – a New Zealand-born bootmaker and eventual General Manager of Australasia’s premier Shoe Component & Last factory in Melbourne. Doug’s son Noel became a successful shoe machinery designer/inventor in his own right in Boston, USA and later in Melbourne in the 1960s. Noel’s son David trained in Italy designing and developing shoes before returning to Melbourne in the 80s. David now works alongside son Oliver, in their Port Melbourne HQ where the shoes are still designed before being manufactured in Portugal.
